Battersea

NEON GLOBAL will have their first proprietary IP experience venue in Europe, right next to the Iconic Battersea Powerstation Development. Designed in collaboration with UOOU studio, it will enhance the overall success and appeal of the development, helping to establish a sense of place to the east of the Power Station and offering further amenity to the local and wider community.

The design of the Venue takes inspiration from the Iconic white chimneys of the Battersea Power Station and translates it into a light, contemporary, yet respectful to the historical context architecture.

The inspiration comes from the way the natural light reflects on the white “corrugated” surface of the chimneys generating a vibrant effect of light and shadows that constantly changes throughout the day.

The Building is composed of two facades, the inner one representing the building envelope and a second outer layer, the “curtain” facade.

The second “skin” appears as a wavy white veil wrapped around the inner volume with an undulated lower edge lifted on the key access points of the building. The facade of the venue was imagined as an elegant, simple and white “curtain” able to react to the natural light and also to offer a digital communication medium for the visitors.

Therefore, the building is not only able to passively react to the natural daylight because of its wavy facade but it is also able to actively generate digital engaging content for the visitors in the public areas.
