Desert Nest

In Desert Nest, Qatari Pavilion and Garden, nature and people come together, in a sustainable collaboration, for a collective vision of a greener world, which starts for Qatar with dreams of a greener desert.

The pavilion is a landscape inspired by local Qatari Desert and Wadi environments, combined with a composition of Towers, inspired by the Iconic Pigeon Towers of Qatar.

Inside the first tower, the actual Pigeon Tower, in which Qatari collected manure for their agriculture, visitors are immersed in the brief history of Qatar. The Green Tower shows modern forms of agriculture in the desert. In the Energy Tower you will experience how sustainable energy can be obtained for this purpose. The Community Tower shows how Qatari are putting the greening of the desert into practice. 

The pavilion offers a digital companion, accessible through QR codes on each of the many graphic exhibition panels in the pavilion. The companion features a full audio tour, all exhibit contents, the main show film and an AR-exhibit component.
