Land Of Light

Algeria is an immense country, which for the most part is located in the Sahara Desert. You might be inclined to perceive this as a challenge, for her people to create a living. But Algeria sees opportunity, where we might see only sand and sun. It is in fact the abundance of sunlight, combined with an abundance of space, which create the ideal situation to create renewable energy on the grandest scale.

Algeria is a Land of Light and in Astana Expo 2017 we tell her story in an immersive visitor journey. The narrative of a preshow-mainshow-postshow takes the visitor by the hand and uses light and media to narrate about the energy ambitions of the country, as well as display a variety of historical, human, ecological, natural and sociological aspects of the North African country.

The highlight of the exhibition is the Main Show displayed on a 14 meter x 6 meter curved projection screen, using 4 projectors and a 80 cm video sphere presentation. Our multimedia team travelled to Algeria and captured in 4K resolution astounding images of the diverse landscape and culture of the country set against an interesting storyline using reflections of the sun.
